Ashton DW Z is a descendant of the Grand Prix stallion Arezzo VDL. This sire has built up a good name in breeding as the sire of sporting highlights such as VDL Edgar M, Harwich VDL and Julius.D. Mother Innovation is a full sister of the internationally 1.35m classified Jolly Dutch and her pedigree combines two lines from breeder Martien Liefhebber. In the fourth generation, this line goes back to the 1.35m jumping mare Kabinett, who is known in breeding thanks to her approved son Patent (by Colino), with whom Peter Bulthuis won the Grand Prix of Pontedera and Vestfold. This direct line also produced 1.45m classified horses such as Dosco van de Postbaan, Irocca van de Postbaan and Jorrera CKV.
