Viking comes from the second crop of the highly talented Boston VDL, who was approved by the KWPN with 87.5 points and went on to win the stallion competition. This son of Baltic VDL impresses with his canter, rideability, and jumping ability, making him a promising sire. Dam Jiddah is a half-sister to the internationally 1.45m-ranked Larderello (by Arezzo VDL), ridden by Wilton Porter, and Hertogin van de Kouberg (by Den Ham Blue R), ridden by Hendrik-Jan Schuttert. Granddam Doreen van de Lingehoeve also produced several 1.30/1.35m-level jumpers. In the second generation, the genetically valuable international sport stallion Gaillard de la Pomme adds his performance genes to this pedigree.
